Growing up, Rich wanted to be a pilot for Eastern Airlines. Also, he has never driven cross-country but has visited one more state than Ed Marsteiner.

B.A., Political Science and Economics, Brandeis University
J.D., magna cum laude, The Boston University School of Law (Editor, The Boston University Law Review; Edward F. Hennessey Distinguished Scholar)

Rich joined National Development in 2003 after sixteen years in private practice with Nutter, McClennen & Fish in Boston, the last eight years as a partner and manager of the firm’s Real Estate & Finance Department, and member of the firm’s Legal Personnel Committee at time of departure.

Rich oversees and directs all legal matters for the company, and is actively involved with the structuring of all of National’s transactions and implementation and execution of its project finance, development, investment, acquisition, asset management and leasing activities.

Extensive experience, both locally and nationally, in numerous sub-specialties of real estate law, including leasing, debt and equity finance, joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, and zoning and land use. While in private practice, Rich represented a wide variety of clients in addition to National, including other developers, life insurance companies, pension fund advisors, real estate investment trusts, and operators of healthcare facilities, corporations, universities and other not-for-profit institutions.
